Optional: seasonal fruits for the serving plate like grapes, apples and/or mandarin oranges
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400F.
Line a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper. Lay the defrosted puff pastry sheet on the parchment paper. Place the wheel of brie cheese in the centre of the puff pastry sheet. Spread the fig jam on top of the brie cheese.
Wrap the brie cheese with the puff pastry by folding the corners over the cheese, working around in a circle to make a closed cheese package.
Brush all over with the whisked egg (egg wash) and then bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is a deep golden brown.
Allow to cool 5 minutes before using the parchment paper to help move the baked brie to a serving plate. Garnish with the fresh minced rosemary, chopped pecans and a drizzle of honey.
Serve with crostini or crackers and seasonal fruits (if desired) and enjoy!
Notes
Make crostini to serve with the baked brie: Preheat your oven to 400°F and slice a baguette into 1-inch thick slices. Brush each baguette slice with olive oil and place on a single layer on a baking sheet. Place in the oven and toast for 5 minutes, flip the pieces and toast for 5 more minutes.
Don’t wait too long before serving this baked brie! After 25-30 minutes, it’ll start to cool. It’ll still be just as delicious, just not as gooey or spreadable.
To make this a showstopper, serve the puff pastry baked brie with seasonal fruits like grapes, apple slices, pears, fresh figs or mandarins or as a centrepiece to a cheese board.
